Should I Sell Now or in the New Year?

Right now the question on everyone’s lips is “Is there still time to sell this year or should I wait until the New Year?” Ordinarily at this time of year we recommend our clients to hold off until the New Year if they are not on the market by the first week of December. This is due to school holidays, Christmas festivities, end of year parties and New Year’s celebrations. This year however is quite different. There is still very strong buyer activity in the market with many finance approved buyers that are keen buy before Christmas.  In many cases these buyers have missed out on one or even multiple properties. There is still a strong opportunity to sell your property prior to the New Year. In fact many buyers are very keen to buy before Christmas and have been conditioned by the competitive market conditions so they are likely to pay a premium price.

So if you are wondering if you have “missed the boat” for 2013…the answer is definately NO! We have the capability to move very quickly to have your property on the market…and sold in a very short time frame. Our average days on market is just 14 days so the chances that we will have you sold by Christmas is extremely high.

For those who feel they would like to wait until the New Year, we suggest you take the holiday period to prepare your property for a Summer 2014 sale.
