Why live in Fairlight?

Fairlight, named after Fairlight House, was originally only the area surrounding Fairlight house and the suburb was called Red Hill. Red Hill was given its name due to the pre-World War II red gravel road on Sydney Road. Fairlight later changed names from Red Hill to Fairlight.

Famous Landmarks
Fairlight Beach is situated on the Manly Scenic Walkway on Sydney Harbour. It can be followed for several kms to Spit Bridge. Fairlight beach has a small tidal swimming pool, shell grit sand, light harbour swells and southerly winds.

Other notable Fairlight landmarks include a cemetery in Griffiths Street and The Manly Fire Station which is on Sydney Road.

Choose from shopping villages at Fairlight, Manly, Balgowlah, Seaforth, or Balgowlah Heights. Further afield is Warringah Mall, Australia’s largest shopping complex which features large department stores plus a huge number of retail shops and supermarkets.

Fairlight offers an active lifestyle with beautiful coastal walks, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, swimming, surfing, local gyms, tennis, a golf course, bike tracks and much more.

Distance from CBD & Transportation
Fairlight is a part of Manly Council and is only 12 km by road from Sydney’s CBD. There are many bus services to the CBD or to Manly where you can enjoy a relaxing ferry ride to Circular Quay.
